Hey guys looking for some info on how to convert an LME recipe into All Grain form. Whats the common practice and how does one decide on the new grain bill and mash Temps/time to use in place of the LME? Thanks for any beta!
Well, generally, 1 pound two-row = .75 pound LME = .6 pound DME. The specialty grains stay the same.
That works well for light DME/LME. But if you've used dark LME, that's more difficult because dark LME has crystal malt in it as well, and it'd be just a guess as to what exactly that would be. You can use an educated guess, though, based on how the beer tastes and what style it is and make it up with specialty grains.
