I've heard that some places will only sell to their "regulars" and others are selling 2pks to "allow more people to buy it". Darn you Craft Beer Bubble. Darn you straight to Heck!

Anyone hittin' OEC on Saturday?

Got a bunch of whiskey that's burning a hole in my house....would love to set up an IP trade for some brews to enjoy over the holidays....

Called my local place after work on the off chance they still had some left and he said it was long gone, and that a few guys that stopped in there to buy some were boasting about how they'd already accumulated a case. Guess I shouldn't really be surprised, but people are really chasing trucks for SoS?
There was definite truck chasing the West Hartford area when it released the other day.
Kay's in EH had a line at open and sold out on the spot according to the phone call I made. Seems a little overboard but no surprise there.

Sonoma in Glastonbury tweeted they were selling SOS at noon yesterday. I got there right at noon, there were 5 ppl ahead of me and I think the guy behind me got the last of it. They were only selling 2pks. If anyone is still looking for SOS, Forest City in Middletown was selling single cans and had some left as of yesterday evening.

I had one last night and it was good, but not good enough to warrant all the craziness surrounding the release IMO. I did feel a bit of a buzz that snuck up on me, which was surprising since I drink a lot of higher alcohol IPAs. What do you guys think of SOS?

What do you guys think will be the next beer to cause craziness in CT? Wings of Armageddon?

Do people still drink WoA? I thought sip was as good as I had recalled and will be the best regularly available IPA in CT. Cue primebeer to tell me that Sea Hag is better.

I'm just hoping all this SoS madness will lead to Gandhi becoming a little easier to procure. I haven't exactly gone out of my way to hunt it down, but it's probably been close to 6 months since I've found it in cans.

Then again, with how on point Hag has been lately and now that the cans are dated, not sure I even need Gandhi ;)

I am quite honestly happy drinking Hag and not Bot. Would still be nice to find a 4pk of Bot cans once in a while to extra out to people, but c'est la vie...

If Wings were in cans here, it's probably rustle some jimmies, but I don't think people will ever go crazy for a few random kegs here and there.

With all the "new money" in the CT beer scene, and people already chasing trucks.... I'm not optimistic Sip of Sunshine will ever be described as "regularly available".
Liked for first documented use of "new money" in CT. Will use this all the time to describe people in line at NEBCO.
And I'm probably being naive, but I'm still expecting SoS to be everywhere/readily available at some point, once the other parts of the state get it and the new car smell wears off.

Hopefully the distributors are smart and release the cans in several drops. Given that it's only one batch a month, if they blow their load on the first drop every time (which with an IPA would be normal practice, I hope), I feel like it is going to be really hard to find.

On the other hand, if the cans aren't dated (didn't actually look at my cans I picked up yesterday), then people are going to get all huffy if this happens re: freshness.

Dated 12/12 on cam fwiw

As long as I know when those drops happen, I'd like to think I could make do (cue me quoting this post in 2 months when I can't find cans once they start shipping to New Haven+Fairfield counties).

Meh...had no issue picking up a 4pk nor did anyone else I know. Seems like it will be easier to procure than Gbot most of the time based on the consistent release schedule but we will see.

I'd like to think this too but these hop heads are crazy man.

I'm pretty sure wings is here already. Didn't wanna buy any bc I think it's just not that good imo.

Anyone know the latest can date kicking around for Ghandi....got to be better than my super fresh 10/15's that I am holding onto like they are the crystal skulls. :):D

Fresh Sea Hag can stand up to pretty much any American IPA in New England and the rest of the country. There, I said it. It does have some batch to batch variance, but when it's on point, it's ******* amazing.
