Bought a conical and was wondering if the more experienced fermenters could advise when to dump and/or harvest. I do not intend to harvest my first batch (baby steps). I use a sanitized 5 gallon paint strainer to remove alot of the hops and trub after the wort is chilled. I go from brew pot to sanitized 5 gal. bucket to get some o2 in there and strain. So initial dump probably is not necessary. After that i'm in the dark. Side note, hate not being able to see what's going on in there. Thanks in advance for useful advice.
