Probably a dumb question since I think already know the answer.
I've never run a commercial keg through my kegerator. Because of this, I don't have a sanke tapper. I have a pump style, but not the kegerator style.
Here's my issue..
I'm throwing a birthday party this weekend at a buddies house and I've picked up a 1/2 barrel of Sam Adams for the party. I'm not sure it will all get drank, so because of the price, I'm going to take it home and put it in my kegerator. Since I don't have a sanke tapper for my kegerator, I had to order one. I didn't think about it until this morning and now I won't get it until around tuesday or wednesday if it's shipped quickly.
How long will a keg last once it's been tapped? Also, since I'm starting off with a pump style tapper at the party, will this cause any problems with it going bad sooner? I'm assuming the pump style tappers just push air into the keg, and that can't be good for freshness.
Thanks everyone.
