This past weekend, I brewed the BYO Murphy's clone extract recipe, found elsewhere in these forums.
Fermentation is going wild, yet the color of the 5 gallons isn't as dark as I would have expected for a stout. It seems to be lighter than the brown ale in the secondary next to it.
I nailed the OG according to the recipe at 1.038, so I thought I was off to a great start, other than the lighter color.
Does color darken over time, or did I do something wrong while steeping my grains or adding extracts?
