hey guys,

I apologize as I am sure this has been talked about many times. I attempted the search function but nothing came back in results.

I had a lengthy break from brewing due to work, money and time. Anyways, I have a batch in primary week 2 and I will most likely secondary a week. I am also interested in cold crashing, but I forgot exactly when this should occur. I’m assuming put in secondary between week 2 and 3 and let rest for a week then cold crash at approximately 40*?

I've never cold crashed so I can't answer that but unless you have a specific reason (like adding fruit, etc) I wouldn't transfer to secondary. It'll be fine in primary that long.

I cold crash pretty much everything, and most times add gelatin as well.
When? When fermentation is completely finished and about 1 week before you are thinking of packaging. Could keep it cold for as long as you need to, until you are ready.
