Was wondering if any fellow coffee roasters wanted to share any of their recipes. Yesterday I roasted my latest batch using the following coffee beans:

2 oz Burundi Sogestal Kirundo
2 oz 2013 Hawaii Maui Mokka
2 oz Colombian Volcano De Tolima Gaitana
2 oz Indonesian Sumatra Mandeling Grade 1

Using my Gene Café roaster I roasted until the temperature of the drum read 450 degrees - about 19 minutes, and then hit the cool button. This morning after letting the beans degas for about 20 hrs enjoyed brewing in my French press with 1/2 cup of beans. A smooth and rich cup of joe.

Coffee roasting is simply cooking the coffee beans, usually for a length of time from about 12 to 30 minutes, to achieve the desired taste. Coffee roasting requires both skill and quality equipment, and when the coffee beans are roasted they expand in size yet lose moisture, and soluble oils develop.
