Ok - I know that star san can last indefinitely under the right conditions. And, I know that you can use it over and over. I have heard that one of the warning signs that the star san is no longer "good" is that it will get cloudy. What if it is cloudy the second you mix it? My water is quite hard and has a high level of bicarbonate. I am assuming this is causing the problem.

If your starsan mixture is instantly cloudy, does that mean that it does not work at all??

No, there is a video around that proved that cloudiness doesn't mean it isn't working. Mine also turns cloudy instantly but my PH is still very low.
