This will be my first time fermenting in a corny. My first thoughts were to ferment/spund/then serve all from the same keg just to experiment to see the results. I have a floating dip tube to avoid any trub during serving but I think I want to change paths and do a closed transfer for long term storage. Has anyone had issues trying to transfer with a floating dip tube? Any advice, tips, or will this not be an issue?

If this will make for a difficult time I will just serve from the same keg. Most of my kegs are kicked within 3 weeks anyway.

I've done both. Serving/fermenting same keg worked well for me, though I do have one of those cheap morebeer filters on my floating dip tube.

I only did one closed transfer out of a keg with a floating tube, before I had the filter, and I had problems. I think the floating tube popped out above the surface of the liquid. I had to remove the lid and reposition the tube, kind of ruined the point of the closed transfer. I think if I did it now, with the filter on the end, the weight of it would keep it below the liquid surface and I wouldn't have a problem.
