I am new to brewing (I just posted my first post in the Introductions). I've had a brew kit sitting in storage for the last two years that my wife gave me for Xmas back in 2009. I finally brewed my first batch the weekend before last.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone on this forum has been to the Boston Beer Works in at Logan Airport (in Boston) and tried their copper ale. I tried it about 2 years ago in December of 2009 (I think) and have no idea if they still server it there or at another Boston Beer Works pub but I distinctly recall liking it immensely. Maybe I was jet lagged or extremely thirsty at the time but I wish I could have another! And now that I am homebrewing, perhaps I can.
I checked out the current Boston Beer Works menu online and apart from them needing a better website, they do not seem to carry that beer anymore. So here I am thinking that my only chance to ever try that beer again is to ask here to see if anyone knows the beer I am talking about and maybe suggest a recipe for duplicating it.
Now, I know copper ale is not a BJCP category but I guess it would fall under American Amber? That's an awfully broad category though. If no one has tried that Boston Beer Works copper ale, perhaps they can recommend any good copper ale recipe.
Anyway, sorry for the long post but I figure the more color background the better!
Cheers,
Aaron
