So, I kegged a batch of "from scratch" root beer yesterday. I decided not to use a bag to put the roots and bark in, because I figured it would strain out fairly easily. Boy was I wrong. Just looking at the beer, it looks like it's got a ton of undissolved sediment in it...but they're very tiny specs...nothing big.
I seem to be having a problem serving from my keg now. It keeps clogging up and I keep shooting CO2 down the "out" post. The Co2 will clear the clog and then as soon as I try to hook it up and pull a pint, it clogs back up immediately. Is the small sediment really causing this thing to clog up so badly? If so...are there any ways to fix this? Gelatin maybe?
