Hey I just got 14 food grade pickle buckets from a family member. I was planning on storing grain in them. Problem is some still smell like pickles. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the smell?

Oxyclean+hot water soak em for a day or two. Rinse well. Sanitize. Enjoy.

You may never get all of the smell out, but it won't hurt anything.

from what i heard you won't get that smell out of the pickle buckets. i never tried it, but it was on one of the threads here

I have tried oxyclean, bleach, hot water & the sun for weeks, degreasers, laundry soap, dish detergent, vingear, and Borax.

They're always going to smell like pickles. Line them with heavy plastic if you're going to use them for anything that you don't want to smell like pickles.

Do you think the pickle smell/taste will transfer to my grain stored in the buckets?
