I can't seem to get the beer smell out of my plastic primary fermentation bucket. I've tried soaking it in hot water, Straight-A, even Ivory dish soap (eeek). Does anyone have a suggestion how to remove the odor? If it's clean does it matter that it has the odor?

It really doesn't matter as long as it is clean and not scratched up on the inside. Give is good overnight soak in PBW and rinse well. Then you only have to worry about hitting it with StarSan before your next use and all is good.
