I could not agree more. Quite possibly my favorite CCB beer of all time. That and Cognac Sweet Stout. For several years I scoured the earth for as many bottles of that beer as I could get my hands on. Over the course of a few years I probably drank 7 or 8. I cracked my last one last fall and it had fallen off to the point I didn't chase another bottle after that. Hard to believe that was a July 2011 release. It's a real shame that Stranahan barrels are an exclusive to Breckenridge Brewery now. I'd love to see what some other breweries could do with those barrels.

Are they? I thought this year's Cycle Friday was aged in them, but for whatever reason they couldn't name the brand (hence "Colorado whiskey barrels"). That was a really good beer, at any rate.

I should clarify that the "exclusive" is the branding of beers aged in their barrels. I'm sure Stranahan's puts out enough whiskey to the point they have many barrels above and beyond what Breckenridge could quite possible use.

When is the last time they have bottled a bourbon barrled aged Zhukov? I remember the Sherry one.

I like the 14.1% ABV. That's a good sweet spot for me.

There have been various crowler Tuesday releases of MZ with adjuncts and or aged on/in bourbon barrels/spirals but as far as bottles go I think the last bottled bourbon BA version was 2010's double barrel BA (bourbon/brandy) MZ. I remember having it in late 2014 and it was flat as a pancake and super syrupy.

Apple brandy vanilla less than a year ago.
I think he's asking about bourbon specifically. I think thesamkuehn is right then. I don't recall any bourbon since then. Side note 1: I miss you, Danny.

Side note 2: been really happy with this and last round.

Side note 3: despite side note 2, we need to bitch more because we're overdue for a gunhaver snarky comment.

gunhaver is no longer directly affiliated with CCB. He has moved on to bigger and better things :)

Tickets on eventbrite? scanned the website quickly and didn't see anything mentioned.

Edit: nvm I figured out how to read.

This year might be one that I need a group to stay with (if others are going) so as to reduce costs of flying solo. If that sounds like you, and you aren't an axe murderer, shoot me a message.

I'm not even in El Cat :(

A group of us will probably drive down from Florence, which is just down I-95 from you. If you get tickets shoot me a message. Haven't planned lodging etc yet but will soon probably depending on who gets tickets.
