I have never seen CCB comment on reselling of their beers. Positive or Negative. I think they have bigger things to worry about.
To be fair, why should they care? Secondary price inflation only validates the value of their brand IMO. It's ******, but it is what it is. There is no way they can control it unless they go full side project and make things in house only.

I feel like they didnt want it to sell and that 1000 dollars is just the crazy price they picked after being crygenically frozen for 20 years, they probably figured it was an absurd benchmark. Similar to the scene in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery when dr evil is leveling another rediculous ransom on his enemies and just says "one million dollars" jokingly...

but then they just laugh at him because lol its just one million dollars bro, have you seen doomsday device payoffs lately?

pretty similar scenarios imo

I agree with you. The real problem is maybe a week prior they were selling that bottle for (I believe) $350. They jacked the price up for the event. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but fairly certain that's what happened.

I have no position on their price increase, or setting it wherever they want. Just seems odd to make the sudden change. Also wasn't there/too rich for my blood either way.

You're wrong. They were $350 at the release, and at least one (maybe more?) got sold at that price. This new list is from the week after the release. The Maple Bourbon is new to the list (they weren't for sale that day for on-premise, nor was it on draft), and the price on the Pappy BA Cake bottles (which they definitely sold a lot of) went from $125 on BA Cake day to $200 after. The Red Wine use to be (I think?) $225.

But as I mentioned in the Westbrook thread, the $1000 is almost surely a mostly-joke.

Not to break up this amazing arc here, but anyone willing to give me their opinion on Dioscorides? Don't want to have my hopes too high before I open it...

So I purchased my 12 bottle Catador ticket (you are welcome imperialking ;) ), airfare to and from Tampa, and paid off my portion of what looks like a very nice Air BnB.

I really hope there is about 3 feet of snow on the ground when March rolls around in Chicagoland...

We'll finally get to bang?!?

Wohoo!

was happy to renew after trying dioscorides at a share and getting 2 bottles of DBH, db bolita is supposedly really nice also.

was less excited when I saw DB Good Gourd show up as the first bottle but it seems like there are always 1-2 other winners that make the entire membership worth it.

It was the best CCB beer I've had since '14 Huna (which I preferred to DBH) and up there with possibly my favorite ever from them, Imperial Milk Porter in Stranahan Whiskey Barrels. Seriously wish I had another bottle or two.

It is available for growler fills at ABCs throughout FL. $22 for a 32oz fill.

I could not agree more. Quite possibly my favorite CCB beer of all time. That and Cognac Sweet Stout. For several years I scoured the earth for as many bottles of that beer as I could get my hands on. Over the course of a few years I probably drank 7 or 8. I cracked my last one last fall and it had fallen off to the point I didn't chase another bottle after that. Hard to believe that was a July 2011 release. It's a real shame that Stranahan barrels are an exclusive to Breckenridge Brewery now. I'd love to see what some other breweries could do with those barrels.
