Looks like we have a disaster brewing in the Monday bottles. Anybody who purchased one (or several) please return them for a refund at your convenience. Anybody with extenuating circumstances or who opened theirs already send a message and we will take care of you.
We will be halting all bottle release plans for the rest of the week, NO MORE RELEASES THIS WEEK.
The tasting room will resume normal hours with our normal beers on tap.
Barrel Aged Day - This event will still happen as planned, obviously minus Monday, but we should still have a lot of other beers to put on tap.
If/When we decide to release any of the remaining bottles, we will make that announcement but until then, it is business as usual, not beer week usual, non-release week usual.

We are beside ourselves over this, we have a lot of safeguards to prevent this from happening but it wasn't enough. Our apologies to the folks who already experienced the issues, and for folks who made the trip to get bottles only to be hugely disappointed.

F/O Bottles - We will make a decision on those later this week. It looks like the options are: refund for that value out of the tickets, release as planned, hold it back and figure out a complicated but doable way to release it later.

FAQ's
No, we don't know what happened, it honestly doesn't matter, anytime you age beer in oak barrels and add adjuncts and package it in bottles, the variables and possibilities are nearly endless and the result is the same, refunds all around.

Yes, we might still release the other beers in the future but considering everything was packaged with the same equipment and handled with the same care (which is extensive, but not enough obviously) we simply can't risk a release at this point.

Sunday bottles seem fine, if anybody is concerned and is in town from elsewhere and doesn't want to take a chance on it, you can also return those bottles to the tasting room.

We are proud to release Bottle #3 of the El Catador Club 8th Edition -- Barrel-Aged Moat Water

Moat Water is a stout brewed with lactose and Skatepark of Tampa's own moat water, then barrel aged with coffee, vanilla and Canadian maple veneers. As for the flavor, think "all you can eat chocolate chip pancakes and bottomless coffee".

Its appearance is dark, just like your future if you dare step foot into the murky depths of the water that once held the legendary moat races during SPoT's Tampa Am and Tampa Pro competitions.

This beer was created through a unique partnership involving three Tampa, Florida natives: Cigar City Brewing, Skatepark of Tampa and PS Stix: the Canadian maple wood veneers used in the aging process at Cigar City Brewing were then added into SPoT's 25 Year Anniversary decks built by PS Stix.

Moat Water is the product of a collaboration that represents quality, a vested interest in the Tampa community and, most importantly, a love of skateboarding and beer.

Damn sad I missed that
Others can chime in.. but of all of beers I've had from CCB over the years, before the El Catador club and beyond, The OG Moat Water was one of the very best.. I remember all kinds of chocolatey goodness... I only had about 3 bottles in all and I was simultaneously happy and bummed to finish my last one.... So this may be my most anticipated El Cat bottle so far....:).. the Maple element just drives up the level of anticipation

They said it tastes like chocolate chip pancakes and that was spot on.

Konigsberg is god damn delishes. Got stuck in an elevator Saturday and my buddy had his bottle so three of us drank it waiting on the fire dept. Pretty sauced by the time they pryed the doors open. Would panic drink again.

Hoping to see a barleywine or a different barrel treatment in the last 2 but the first 5 have been so good, I should just keep my mouth shut.
