Dioscorides: a Rye whiskey aged Imperial Stout with black caraway seeds. Should be interesting! Thoughts?

I like Akavit. And am a known enjoyer of aakavit DL.

Halloween is almost here. Give some kid a random licorice surprise

*drops Dioscorides in bag*

Well god damnit. Keep licorice the **** out of my beer.
Drank it, enjoyed it and I don't like licorice. Even looking for it I didn't pick up much of any.

Lots of rye barrel which I liked a lot. Thinner than Outskirts and Dechoherence (and other thick CCB stouts) but wasn't "thin". Had the same consistency as the '14 Huna I drank with it.

TL/DR: Lots of flavor & barrel, thin-ish but did enjoy.

it is disappointing that the best beer the club has done was in round 1

Each round has had its own stand-out (some rounds had multiple), so I think it's perfectly fine if they want to continue to experiment instead of re-hashing the same beers each year. Cranking out DB Hunas each year would get boring, I think.

Rd. 1: DB Huna (obviously)
Rd. 2: Endless Nameless (but really Leon if you won the lotto)
Rd. 3: Decoherence (some may say better than DB Huna)
Rd. 4: ???

Yes, there were some stinkers in each of the first three rounds, but that comes with the program. Not everything is gonna be a homerun but when it hits, it's incredible.
