Well !
My cider was made by fresh apple juice . It was 18L at first but the final product after 3 times racking is about 10L !
I had this problem in white wine too . How can I increase efficiency ?
Any available product for help ?
And what about added sugar ? Will it increase sediments ?
Thanks

did you try tipping the container on its side so you could pull more cider without getting sediment?

That happens. Yesterday, when I racked my cider I had about 4 inches of sediment in the 5 gallon carboy! It's because of the pectins in cider/juice from fresh pressed apples.

If you want to minimize the sediment, you could try more careful racking but with fresh fruit, that's just the way it is.

When you buy a full 5 gallon bucket of grapes, packed to the top so it's more like 6 gallons, you end up with about 3 gallons of wine.
