Recently saw a recipe for a British ale using chocolate rye. Interesting. So I purchased a few pounds of chocolate rye and now I can't find the article.

Anyone point me in the right direction? Any British ales using chocolate rye?

Thanks.

In a porter instead of regular chocolate malt?

"Grantham English Mild" from the latest issue of Craft Beer and Brewing. A recipe from Josh Weikert's "Make Your Best..." series for an English Mild.

I tweaked the Grantham English Mild for my equipment and plan to brew soon. I'll use 8.4% chocolate rye.

I've used a regular rye in a Rye IPA a few years ago, but this is my first time using chocolate rye.

Any suggestions or input on the chocolate rye? For example, "Be careful. I used a bit of chocolate rye and the rye taste was too much."

Thanks.

I've been putting Weyermann chocolate rye into quite a few beers over the last few months as I brew my way through the "Make Your Best" English and British ales.

There's no husk which prevents it from being overly bitter. I've been throughly pleased when using it at Weikert's recipe percentage.

*Takes a delicious last sip of a Grantham Mild*

How’s this recipe turn out? I’m thinking of brewing this for my next batch and I’m curious about what other people’s experiences are with it
