Does it matter how you chill the wort? Most say to put the wort in the sink in an ice bath for approx. 30 mimutes to get below 80 degrees to pitch the yeast. I made only two batches and I just fill the sink w/ cold water (I do have super cold well water ) and within 30 mintues the wort is the 70's. I was just curious if the instant shocking of the wort in ice have any affect on the final product....and has any one cracked the pot since the water was at a boil to instant cold temps.
Thanks
