Has anybody attempted to split a chest freezer to half half frozen and half as a fermenter? I can't think of anyway that it would work without some pretty heavy modifications
Quite a few HBT folks have used one controller to keep their keezers at dispensing temperature and another controller to maintain a fermenter at the proper temperature using a Ferm-wrap or similar device. I know one fellow that's doing four fermenters in a huge chest freezer that also is his dispensing appliance.

[edit] To be honest, it's hella easier to just pick up a separate appliance off of Craig's List, but you have to admire the determination thing
Build a box out of ridged foam that fits in half the freezer. May or may not need to put a lid on it. Only makes sense if its a big enough chest freezer though.
