Ok, so I know some of you are from the canton,ohio area. You guys should join up my brew club. C.A.S.C.A.D.E. (Canton Area's Sinister Crew of Ale Drinking Enthusiast) We have about 31 members currently, but only about 5-6 come to meetings. Most of them don't even really live in the canton Area. We are very new, only have had about 3 meetings. Right now what we are doing is having monthly meetings (2nd friday of every month at 7PM) that are style themed. The idea is we try to encourage the members to brew that style, so it's ready to taste at the meeting. If you cant brew we try to encourage you to bring 2-3 bottles of a good commercial example. We sit around with BJCP style guidlines, and discuss/taste the commercial examples, and discuss the flavors that are present. Then we get some homebrewed examples and taste/score them with a BJCP score sheet. This will help us improve our pallets, as well as help us figure out great beers to enter into competitions. That's generally about half the meeting right now, the other half is just spent talking about beer or w/e and tasting other commercial and/or homebrewed beers that people have brought, that are not the themed style. As of right now the meetings take place in my house in SW canton. If anyone is interested join the facebook group. My link and also post something about yoursellf on the C.A.S.C.A.D.E. wall please.
