Chard?

So, I know that apfelwein is supposed to age several months, but I tried a sample after about 1 month.

No apple whatsoever, just tasted like the most buttery chardonnay ever.
Yuck!

2 weeks ago, this tasted great, but the last couple weeks have really brought out some butter in int.

Obviously i'm not done aging it yet, but man it tastes bad!

Ya think it will mellow out with time?

Never heard of buttery AW. Age will propbably take care of it. What yeast did you use?

In this thread: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f32/better-than-apfelwein-29003/ the OP mentions that using Red Star Cote de Blancs yeast resulted in buttery apfelwein. Is that what you used?
