Anyone else having trouble with this probe? I'm on my second probe in a few months and it just crapped out on my second batch. They start to read too high.

To the companys credit, they sent me a replacement at no cost. I'm going to try it one more time before switching to something else.

Which model? DTTC? Don't get the wire wet.

Yeah, I had one for about 3 months before it crapped out. Like your I was getting real high temps, then it went blank and that was all she wrote.

I have been getting the wire wet. I just drop the probe in the bottom of either my hlt or bk and wait for my desire temp. The plug has never been wet though. Their literature never warns against that either.

Definitely not waterproof at the probe wire junction.

I was very careful in keeping the junction dry and only placed the probe in the liquid for a short time.

So you stick this in your BK or HLT... Steam... You did get the junction wet.
