CDA or NOT???

  • I like the whole CDA thing.

  • I will never call it Cascadian.

just to fuel the flames but why do they call it kentucky bourbon

I'm by no means an expert, but was it invented here?

I wasn't consulted on that name.;)

TEXAS RANGER, Champagne is also supposed to be only brewed in one place.

Buggar that I say.

If I have superior grapes and brew the same product, they look like the fools.

I think the whole concept of "Cascadia" is ridiculous. First they want to secede from the US and Canada, then they want to name a beer after themselves? Bigfoot be damned. I think we should just call it Dark Hoppy S***.

Whatever. Like I said... I find the whole debate pointless. I really don't give a rat's ass what they call it.

I'm calling it India Porter. F*ck it.

If they wanted to rename porters Cascadian brown lusciousness, I think you'd pipe up.

to each their own.

Your avatar looks like you've lost weight btw, Looking pretty good!;)

Yeah I don't really care much. I do like the RoC though. It's silly but whatever, it's fun. There is a lot of hate for this region out there, as there should be. Stay jealous, planet earth.

C'mon everybody - every region/city/state deserves to arbitrarily name their own CDA brew - give it a try...

OK. How 'bout Centucky Dark Ale? Get it? Because they can't spell right down there! Just joking, I loved that area when I was at Ft Campbell a few years ago.

Really, the weather is to be jealous of, it's the people who suck.

Sorry to say, but maybe the only kalifornians to visit centucky are the worst ones.

Unfortunately, from the times I have been to Cali, I know that isn't the case.

From the superficial snobs, to the ******* snobs, the recurring theme is their snobbishness. Their inherent belief that they are better than everyone else just because they live in Cali, even if it's only been for the last week, and even if noone else in that state even likes them.:drunk:

there are people in Alabama who think it's silly for people to care about making homebrewing legal.

Hardly the same thing.

One is about personal freedoms and the right to do something without being punished by the law.

The other is about a name.

i guess. people care about what they care about. if you're really fond of the style, why is it so hard to believe people care about what it's named?

"a rose by any other name"? to quote bart simpson:

"not if you called them stench blossoms."

edit: btw, yesterday there were 39 votes for "not calling it CDA". can you retract or something?

I guess I follow the philosophy of "don't sweat the small stuff." There are a lot more important things to be concerned about.

Yamamoto Tsunetomo would disagree

yeah, true. there are some sects that worship buddah as a god tho.

i think we might have run this thread far enough off course...

Bah...

this thread was pointless to begin with. There were already at last two other threads on the new style and there's nothing said in here that wasn't already said in the other threads.

i think we have given this thread some actual value finally.

:mug:

I try not to sweat the small stuff, but that can easilly be the path toward the dark side and utter uselessness.

For the enlightened pacifist, Texas ranger sure likes to interject to let us know how much he doesn't care.;)

I still maintain that " pro CDA or PHUCK CDA" is way different than other threads that boiled down to "what should we name this?"

I like you WALKER, and no matter how much you don't care will change that, lol.

Just saw another thread where someone was claiming the style was invented by the late Greg Noonan in Vermont. If that's true, than the crowd trying to name this a CDA are over 3,000 miles off.

But as they point out, facts are irrelevent. All that matters, is marketing, what they think, and popular opinion...........

This is how Hitler got a foothold in jolly old germany, convincing everyone that killing jews was a cool idea, despite evidence to the contrary.
