I was just reading about a guy who's girlfriend put his new brew in the frig before it carbed up. Well, I brewed my first lager and thought they needed to be in the cold for lagering. So, my question is, do I need to take them out of the frig for a couple of weeks and then get them back in for the recommended months of conditioning?

I assume you're lagering in the bottle? If you are, you want to leave them at room temperature until carbed up, and THEN lager them.
