I just kegged my first beer and was wondering the proper way to carbinate it with co2. I siphoned my beer into the keg at room temp. I pumped co2 into the keg (3 times) and blead the oxygen out as recommened. I was going to use the "set and forget" method and was wondering if I had to chill the beer first in the kegerator for 24 hours (without it being hooked up to the co2 tank) and then attach the co2 hose @ 10-12psi after the beer has chilled down to 40-45 degrees and let it sit for 1-2 weeks? I guess my question is...can I just hook it up to the co2 @ 10-12psi while cooling down in the keg or should I wait until its cool and then start carbinating? Will it have any ill effects if I started carbinating while waiting for it to cool down? Any suggestions would be great...thanks!

Just hook it up, start chilling, and leave it be. Double check your pressure (make sure it's still 10-12 psi) after your regulator/tank have also chilled, sometimes the lower temp changes the pressure.
