My favorite recipes for my house IPA and double IPA call for small amounts (1 lb or less) of Crystal 120 and Crystal 20, respectively. I was hoping to brew them this weekend, but I'm short on those malts. However, during a bulk malt buy last year, I bought a bunch of Carared and Caraaroma for other recipes. At the time, I thought I'd be brewing those recipes a lot, but as it turns out, I didn't, and I still have several pounds of each of those remaining.

In looking at the descriptions of those malts, it occurs to me that they could be direct substitutes for the Crystal 20 and Crystal 120. Can anyone confirm/dispell this? Is Crystal 20 the same as Carared? Is Crystal 120 the same as Caraaroma?
