I have some bags of Caramel Malt that have (Carahell) in parenthesis 10L what is the difference in that and regular crystal? thanks.

Crystal malts and caramel (cara) malts are different names for the same thing. Generally North American and UK versions are called crystal and the Continental versions are called caramel. Hell is German for light, 10 Lovibond Caramel/Crystal malt is a very light variety.
 
Caramel and Crystal are peretty much interchangable. They come in a variety of colors from 10L which is pale, to 60L which will add an amber color, all the way to and above 150, which starts to add a deep amber almost red color. The color rating also affects the flavor which goes from just sweet, to caramel, to burnt caramel, to toasted raisiny fig.
