It would probably be ok. Any longer than that and it will go flat because of the extra head space. Just keep it cold and it should be good until the next day.

I will often bottle my highly carbonated session saisons in 22 ounce bottles. A few days later the beer is not as highly carbonated, but it isn't flat.

Thanks. Mama's gonna be gone all night so I might drink it all, but I'd really rather enjoy it twice

It's just like buying a growler fill; you crack it on Fri night, Sat at noon it tastes ok, Sun morning you choke it down because you don't want to waste it. Nobody else is going to drink it at that point and it's only going to get worse.

Last night I had a bit of New Belgium's Cocoa Mole, capped it right back with the red wing capper. I've done this a bunch and usually get 3 days off it. In fact, I do this regularly with 22oz bottles and get at least 2-3 days servings off it.

I use a wine bottle stopper in my open 22oz bottles. I've never needed to leave it in for more than 24 hours, so I wouldn't consider this a long term solution.

I can't think I've let one go that long, but I regularly drink half a bomber and then recap it, stick it back in the fridge and drink it 3-5hrs later and I don't notice a particularly large difference in carbonation. I would think after 2-3 days you'd have lower carbonation, but I doubt it'll be flat. I've done recapping and then drinking the day a couple of times and it was fine. I noticed a difference in carbonation, but it was still okay.

I'd imagine if you left it out at room temp it would be very flat after just a day, even with recapping.

I have one of these

It saves money on caps in the long run. You will lose some carbonation though. Kind of like would happen and for the same reasons a with a 2 liter of soda that has been recapped.

You gotta drink it all on Friday, man! :p

A buddy uses a fancy wine saver cap for the bombers I send him. Not sure what the brand is, but he said it just slides in and locks on keeping the CO2 in just fine. I don't feel as bad if he looses a bomber bottle over a growler...
