The Memphis area has gotten a few new breweries in the last few years, and a fairly large home brewing community. Most are in/near downtown/midtown. Here are some recommendations:

I would say Wiseacre, they are my favorite Memphis Brewery.
Memphis Made and High Cotton are solid as well, but I tend to spend more time at Wiseacre when I am in Memphis.

was great, wiseacre is world class...wish we had that in DC! the pork shoulders were good....the ribs were very good, but not as good as what i make.
also made it to lost 40 in little rock, which was solid and technically solid.
