Can you store star-San solution

Is it ok to pour left over star San from brew day into spray bottles and save it? Or does it lose it's potency?

I have some Star San from last year made with distilled water that is still good. This stuff has been poured from it's original gallon jug to a clean 5g bucket for sanitizing, then back into the gallon jugs for storage quite a few times. The key is using distilled water and only sanitizing very clean equipment (which you should be doing anyway).

Oh ya, get some PH test strips and test before every use just to make sure. And if you stuff goes cloudy, dump it and start over again.

Use star-San with RO or distiller water an keep it sealed up you will be fine. When or if the liquid goes cloudy throw it out. I in doubt just make a new batch.

I mix up five gallons at a time and store it in bucket and spray bottle. The solution will last quite a while; just toss it when it looks dirty or the pH goes above 3.

As said already it last a long time if you use RO or distilled water. I make solution by the keg and store it between brews... it takes a long time to go through that much since it can be reused.

Starsan doesn't go bad when it's cloudy. It's the PH you need to worry about. Here's a craigtube video that proves it;

You can't/shouldn't use tap water with StarSan?

You can definitely use tap water. It just doesn't stay good indefinitely. When I use with tap water, it goes cloudy after a day or so.

As do I. - tap water for brew day & bottling day. I just keep a spray bottle solution using distilled water - perfect for hydrometer samples and other incidental needs (and when the dog slobbers on the kids toys)
