Can I let a carb'd keg sit for awhile unhooked?

Hey guys,

I've got about a half of a keg (2.5 gallons) of Oktoberfest on tap in my converted kegerator, and it's been in there for about a month. I have a new beer that I want to hook up, but I only have one tap right now.

Question is, will it hurt the Oktoberfest if I disconnect it from the gas line and let it sit in the fridge for a couple months while I drink the new stuff? It's a full-sized fridge, so I have room for both kegs to sit in there, so no worries about change in temps.

Eventually I'll add 2 more taps for my other kegs, but for the time being, gotta make do with what I've got!

Thanks

Sure. As long as it is filled with CO2 under pressure it is fine!

Yeah it will be fine.

If it were me, I would find the temperature of your house (probably like 70-72?) and the volumes of CO2 that you have in the beer. Then, find the correct psi at that temperature to keep the beer carbonated at room temperature (probably something like 30-ish). Pump that into the headspace, and then before you put it on tap again, purge it out and you should be good to go.
