I know I'm supposed to figure this out on my own, but I screwed up the recipe and then added LME while it was ferementing. I had an OG of 1.030, and to up the gravity I added a 3.3 pound container of LME syrup while fermenting. My FG is 1.010 There looks to be about six gallons of beer. Any guesses as to my ABV?

I did the math- I guestimate 5.25% ABV if it's 6 gallons.

The "new" OG would be 1.030 + 1.020(from 3.3 pounds LME) = 1.050

To figure ABV, the formula is (OG-FG) x 131

So, (.050-.010) x 131 = 5.24%

Yep. If you use the more complex formula instead of the easy estimate, you wind up doing a lot more math to get essentially the same answer (5.34%, a 0.1% difference):

ABW = 76.08(OG-FG)/(1.775-OG)
ABV = ABW (FG/.794)
