So I've been reading up on homebrewing for a while and am about to make the plunge.

I'm going to skip the whole extract brewing step and go straight to all-grain. I understand the concepts of both and don't mind making the investment in going all grain.

Now I just have to figure out what kind of setup I can/want to build. I live in an apartment and don't have as much space as I like. I do have a patio that I can do outdoor brewing on.

Loki, welcome to HBT and to homebrewing or as many of us like to say, the "obsession"!
What part of town are you in?

Being in an apartment I would think that the cooler/IC/propane burner set up would work well for you. With the exception of my empty bottles I can store most of my brew stuff in a space the size of a small closet.

I would think the only space issue you may have is where to put all of your fermenting/conditioning beer!
