Maybe I'm not seeing it, but does Bru'n Water calculate your total hardness after your mineral additions or do you simply add up the ppms of minerals in the adjustment summary?

I don't think so, or at least have not found where it does that for you.
I was wanting to know my water hardness so I bought a $10 test kit.

I am curious to see how much temporary hardness can be removed from my well water by boiling it.

I did the boiling way a couple of times - but then I got some lactic with some test papers and it's simple to get Ph down now - I only use the test papers if I'm changing a water volume I've not done before

the lactic was cheap - so a lot more economical than boiling up a lot of water the night before

Thanks. Thats good to know. I am just getting started with treating my water.
No major issues with it other than hard as a rock. For a many beers, I dilute it 50/50 with distilled water. Other recipes I use it as-is.
