I brewed beer often about 10 years ago and always used bleach for the task because thats what my lhbs and my kit instructions called for at the time...advance 10 years and now the wealth of information available on line suggests otherwise. I have decided to start brewing again and have made 2 batches, one bottled and one in my secondary. My new LHBS sold me C Brite. I am almost out and need to buy some more sanitizer.
Do I continue with c brite or do you guys/gals suggest a better method. I have read many of the threads and looking for advice.
Thanks

I use Star San as it is fairly cheap to use and it works. With Star San you should not have to worry what type of material you are trying to sanitize. It can be used over and over again as long as the PH remains low enough. Charlie Talley from 5 Star Chemicals(the makers of Star San) states that bleach is a good sanitizer when used properly. I personally would recommend using Star San for its ease of use and cost.

I am using C-brite because that's what I have... the container says to use 2 oz for 2 1/2 gallons. What would that be in volume? I don't have a scale to weigh it, but I have plenty of measuring spoons....
