So I pitched a vial (starter) of WLP Burton Ale yeast in 5 gal of red ale with a 1062 og on the 4th of Apr. I then put a 1070 og IPA on that yeast cake on 14th of apr. My ? is . With this thing taking off in 40 min, do you think it would have finished in 3 days ? I ask this because I hope my ferm is not stuck as I have nothing coming out now. I know nothing about this yeast and have never used it befor this. Would a yeast cake help finish a high OG in that span? I know checking the gravity will tell me but I'm going to leave it in till Saturday and then check it. Just seeing if any of you expierienced the same.

Depending on the fermentation temp, it wouldn't be unheard of to finish completely in three days, though that's a lot of sugar to work through. Why not just get a reading? I sometimes take two or three readings during primary, just to watch the progress. Doesn't hurt anything.

With the yeast cake, it would be pretty hard to get a stuck fermentation. It's probably done, but I'd still let it sit there for at least a week anyways.
