So who wants to give me a ride from Philly? I'll put in for gas/hotel. I promise I'm not a rapist.

any notice on non-pub club member allotments?

just trying to gauge how early us neckbeards will need to show

If it's something like 300 allotments above the set aside pub club then you may not have people lining up at 3 am, if its say 100 allotments over the 100 pub club, i wouldn't be shocked if 75 people are there before 4 am

We were very conservative on bottle limits. There were approximately 150 people on line when the doors opened for the initial Grrrz release.. It's hard to judge the turn out this time, but the beers seem to have been well received by the public. It was felt that it would be best to err on the side of caution. It is preferable that there is extra after the first run through the line than not enough.

Bottle counts for release day 5/9
Kriek 800
Berry 800
Apricot 400
Aardbei 400
CoP 400

That's really nice of you guys actually. Also, limiting people to 1 bottle cuts down on a lot of people traveling far because they don't think it's "worth it."

I never get emails from the pubclub even after giving them my address 3 times. That bottle count is after the pubclub members, wish they would have upped the number set aside for Friday, unless they're really expecting 400 people to show up saturday.

Since they're permitting pub clubbers to buy both Friday and Saturday...I'm guessing they figured that PC members will already account for 40% of the release between the two days after double dip. Still...if there are 300 people out in the middle of bumfuck Williamsport on Saturday morning, I'll be surprised. It could happen...but I'd be impressed.

If 400 people line up on Saturday for this release, I am done with beer.

I'm out for this one, the beer sounds great and the allocations are solid, but I forgot that's the same day as Commencement here and I don't think I should be skipping graduation ceremonies to go buy beer right before I'm up for tenure.

Here’s the skinny on the Beers... The rumors are true. We’ll be releasing 5 (yes, FIVE!) bottles to the public

and our members starting on May 8th, 2015, at our brewpub. The bottles that will be available are...

• Le Roar Grrrz Kriek (2/person)
• Le Roar Grrrz Berry (Blueberry/Blackberry, 2/person)
• Le Roar Grrrz Apricot (1/person)
• Le Roar Grrrz Aardbei (Strawberry, 1/person)
• Crime of Passion (barrel aged sour ale finished on Passion Popper Kiwiberries, 1/person)
All of these bottles are 750ml, cork & cage. The cost of all of the Grrrz variants is $30/bottle. The cost of
the Crime of Passion is $25/bottle.

Dates and Times... Pub Club Members will be able to start purchasing bottles on Friday, May 8th, when our doors open at 11AM. We will sell the allotted Pre-Sale bottles until they are gone. General Public sales will start at 9AM on Saturday, May 9th. We will feature a light Belgian Menu to complement our Belgian slanted tap offerings on Saturday, May 9th. We be ready to satisfy the hunger of all those who graciously waited in line to obtain our beer!

Allotments... Clarifying the above information, Pub Club Members will be able to purchase a total of 7
bottles (2 Kriek, 2 Berry, 1 Apricot, 1 Aardbei, and 1 Crime of Passion). The total cost for this allotment is $205. Members and the general public are not required to buy the full allotment of bottles. This being said, we have reserved enough bottles for the Friday Pre-Sale event for 100 Members to purchase their full allotment. Any bottles not sold Friday will be added to the amounts available Saturday. All sales are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

like 700 people showed up to an overpriced, unfriendly brewery in Maine (2 hours away from nearest large city) last saturday to buy one case of a friggin' IPA that has now been released at least three times at a pretty unreasonable price. this is a release of 7 bottles of world class AWAs (only one of which has been previously released) at a reasonable price from a friendly brewery 3 hours from nearest large city. don't make any rash statements.

hard to underestimate how insane people have gotten in the past year.

I don't necessarily disagree, but better safe than sorry. That would be double from the first release. Not impossible.

If any MA folks are coming to the Bullfrog release, I'd love to work out an IP trade for some Tree House and Jacks Abby. I have lots of Michigan/Great Lakes Stouts.

You're really traveling from Michigan for the release? ****.

6.5 hour trip isn't that bad! We were already planning on driving 4.5 hours for Jackie O's, so the decision to hit up Bullfrog wasn't a huge leap. We're going to spend part of the trip in Philly and finally check out Pizza Boy as well.

Mediocre food and Atmosphere at Pizza Boy. I've also gotten dirty glasses several times. I'll stand my ground.

Dirty glasses several times. That sucks. Grateful I've been several times and not only thoroughly enjoy their pizzas, but haven't had a dirty glass once. Have you brought the glasses to their attention?

I may be deterred too if I persistently had a bad experience, but in conjunction with having had good food and glasses, I can not only get most of Troegs' offerings no tap at Pizza Boy, but I can get all of Pizza Boy's stuff (which is generally awesome), in addition to bee from a vast array of other breweries. Pretty much the ground upon which I stand. lol

Cheers.

Not that my comment is in any way valid to the topic but...telling someone to skip Pizza Boy and opt for Troegs instead is certainly a first.

I dont visit either place with any regularity anymore but id rather drink Terry's worst offering at Pizza Boy than waste my time at Troegs drinking the same old boring **** and have to scream at the person beside me just to carry on a conversation.

Pizza Boy is like the beer nerd version of an all you can eat gourmet buffet whereas Troegs is like...McDonalds.

I've had several good scratch beers at Troegs. Their normal beers are nothing awesome I'll agree to that. BA Flying Mouflan was great.
