Decided to build an inline aeration device this morning
I used a 3/8" T fitting (brass), a piece of 3/8" copper tubing, along with 2x 3/8" hose barbs, and a 3/8" compression fitting:
To result in this:
Forgot to lift the hose out of the water to show that liquid was coming out (but it was).
The beer comes in the "top" of the T, and exits left (on the picture). O2 will be connected to the 3/8" copper tube.
the copper tube is pushed almost to the bottom of the left T branch to carry the wort forward (instead of pushing back on the top of the T connection).
I tried it with CO2 and water and it worked quite well. I will soon expirement with O2 to see how much dissolution I can get from the straight copper tube.
I really wanted to bend the copper tube into a 90-degree and enter from the top, but it's too tight to make it happen.
Parts list:
2x 3/8" Hose barbs x 3/8" MIP - A-294
1x 3/8" Female Tee - A-758
1x 3/8" Comp x 3/8" MIP w/Insert - A-123
Short length of 3/8" copper.
Teflon tape.
Just under $15 at Home Depot.
