Heading out for a nice 3 week vacation in late Sept. and will be hitting these cities. As always we'd like to visit some of the local breweries and enjoy their offerings. Suggestions?

I haven't been to Budapest or Salzburg in a long time. But, I was in Vienna 2 years ago and hit a lot of spots including the popular 1516 Brewing, etc. But, one small place I really liked was Lichtenthaler Brau. Off the beaten path a bit with really good beers. I'll be in Salzburg next year so feel free to share any good spots you find there. Definitely check out Augustiner Brau. Beer is maybe not great but, good. The place is fantastic, in a former? monastery as I recall. Stay a while and you'll have a great time. Here's a few Vienna links below I had saved. Cheers!

Well this trip never happened... We got hit by Harvey and were forced to cancel. We only got about 4 inches of flooding but that was enough to have to rip all the sheetrock up a couple of feet, trash all kitchen cabinets, remove all insulation from the lower walls, replace all doors and moldings, etc, etc, etc. Luckily we were insured, but what a PITA! My brewing hasn't just taken a backseat, it got kicked out of the car! My keezer and fermenter fridge both seemed to have survived (I immediately unplugged them when the water started getting into the garage) but I'm now pretty much out of beer and have to get brewing again. We plan on rescheduling the trip and are looking forward to it. Damned Harvey.
