I just got my belgian corks in the mail, and they look too big. I kind of sized one up on a Belgian bottle from Allagash, and it does not look like it would ever fit, even with the pressure applied by the corker. I'm going to rent a floor corker from my LHBS when I go to bottle this batch, so I can't check right now. These are the 44 mm x 25.5 mm corks from BSG. Did I get the wrong size?

As Bobby said, they are huge. Basically you are cramming them into the bottle to create a seal. Just corked my first sour last month and was concerned how it would work out as well. But I did a star-san wash to get them lubbed up. Also, I am storing the bottles on their side to keep the cork wet. I was nervous I'd have a leak, but it's all good.

That's very reassuring! I was imagining bottles shattering when I tried to cork them.
