Middle of the week too. Have to get time off for the event.

Also, my email said 8 variants. I assume 3 for the HS?

Reserve Society,

Tickets for the release of 2014 Black Tuesday® will be going up for sale today at 2pm exclusively to our Society members via TheBrueryStore.com. You will find the tickets in the "merchandise" section of the website.

The events will be held over two evenings at our Tasting Room. Sessions are at the following dates and times:

October 28th - 4pm - 6:30pm
October 28th - 7:30pm - 10pm
October 29th - 4pm - 6:30pm

Due to the size of our Tasting Room, we are limiting sales to 1 ticket per member. We understand this isn't ideal, but want to let you know that with the anticipated opening of a Bruery Terreux tasting room in 2015, we should be able to accommodate more people in the years to come.

Price: $55 (no further discounts applied)

Included:
  • High end crystal tasting glass (option to purchase 1 additional for $15 at the event)
  • Catered, gourmet hand passsed appetizers
  • 7 taster tickets for Black Tuesday and it's variants (there are 8 options)
  • Unlimited Hottenroth "palate cleansers"
Beer List:
  • Black Tuesday 2014
  • Black Tuesday Nitro 2013
  • Double Barrel Black Tuesday 2014
  • Sundae Black Tuesday 2014 (cask - winner of blending competition)
  • Pistachio Vanilla Black Tuesday 2014
  • Rum Barrel Aged Black Tuesday 2014
  • Chocolate Rain 2014
  • Grey Monday 2014

As always, we're very excited for the release of Black Tuesday and we hope that you are as well.

Cheers,
The Bruery

Ya, there are 3 HS-only variants:
  • Port Barrel Aged Black Tuesday 2014 (Hoarders Exclusive)
  • Mocha Wednesday 2014 (Hoarders Exclusive)
  • Wineification II (Hoarders Exclusive)

Hoarders also have access to Mocha Wednesday, Wineification II, and Port Barrel Black Tuesday. I'd be stoked if they bottle Port BT for Hoarders, that sounds pretty damn good.

Edit: Looks like rrryanc and I were posting at the same time.

Also:

October 29th - 7:30pm - 10pm (Hoarders Exclusive Session)

It's a little unclear if the HS exclusive pours will be available at the other sessions

the only thing that should hold smoking wood is the drain
It's actually pretty good as a marinade.

Smoking Wood, paprika, cayenne, cumin, Brown sugar, thyme, black pepper, and salt.

I dunno the sounds amounts, I just eyeball and taste as I go.

it's really good on pork shoulder.

i can totally see that. but a $2 bottle of liquid smoke, or a $5 bag of wood chips (depending on amount/wood/etc) goes a lot farther...

Got my invite... already splitting with one person, will probably add another person or two this year unless some major changes... I really hope there's some sort of price drop / added value for Hoarders this year, it's getting so damn hard to justify. If i lived down the street it would be a no-brainer, but **** it's becoming a pain to order/ship/pay for everything.

I wanna hear about all those S.H.I.T. variants. Hopefully all the Bruery Taproom regulars let us know what the deal is!

I'm here trying all three right now. Here's my take:

Raisins/Cacao is surprisingly good. I didn't hold much hope for it but it was easily my favorite of the three.

Cherries wasn't that great and was my least favorite of the three. Very faint cherry/vanilla aroma and flavor.

Coconut was very tasty but nothing mind blowing. Smell was very nice.

How's the regular one? Is there a regular one?

* = Subject to change

^^ = If you would like the beers included with the membership to be shipped, we will sell a "shipping package" in January, once we are set up to handle such requests. From then on, there will be a shipping option for each order that you make throughout the year.

***Please note that some of these beers will also be available to the general public, but as a Society member, you are guaranteed the opportunity to purchase these beers without fear of them selling out and for a discounted price***

By “Exclusive” we mean that most beer meant for Reserve and Hoarders Societies will be sold primarily, if not solely, to those societies. We plan production aiming to produce enough bottles to meet the anticipated demand from Reserve and Hoarders members. This doesn’t mean that we expect members to buy every single allocation available, and we do adjust our projections accordingly. Still, we do depend on a certain threshold of sales for reach release. So, after the initial sale of a release, if there are a substantial number of outstanding bottles we may offer them back for sale to both Hoarders members exclusively, or with Reserve Society members. And on occasion, we may offer them to Preservation members. We may also offer otherwise Exclusive beers at The Bruery events or at our Tasting Room, or cellar them for a later release. These extended releases won’t be the norm for every beer, so we encourage you to purchase your allocations when they are available, rather than waiting to see if they’ll be re-offered to the members. We hope this is a reasonable balance of your expectations and our business needs. We may change our practices to ensure that we are able to sell the beer we produce.

If you would like the beers included with the membership to be shipped, you will be able to order a Flexible Shipping Option in the beginning of the year. From then on, there will be a shipping option for each order that you make throughout the year, or you can consolidate orders using the Flexible Shipping Option.

Barrel aged beers tell us when they are ready, so keep in mind any stated release dates are estimates only.

You must be 21 years or older to be in the Reserve Society. All pick-up purchases take place in Placentia, California, thus CA (Placentia area) sales tax will be applied to all orders at a rate of 8%. All shipping orders will be taxed at the shipping address rate. Recipients of beer shipped within California must be at least 21 years old and must be available to sign for their beer deliveries and verify their age. We are not be able to ship outside of California. If you are outside of California, please designate a trustee within California who is over 21 years of age to pick-up or receive shipment of your beers. The Bruery is not responsible for or issue refunds for any beer released to a trustee.

Well, I'm now confident I'll renew...then regret it later on next year
I'm having pangs of regret, but I was also salivating at last year's list and that sure hasn't panned out. Plus I still have 40-some bottles of old allocations plus whatever I haven't picked up PLUS whatever else there is this year, I think I'll manage.

I was really excited about last years list. I just simply haven't bought much of anything this year so I luckily don't have a ton of Bruery bottles to get through. Maybe 2 cases or so if that. I'm just curious what Black Tuesday Reserve is.

And I want to know why they haven't done the obvious and make a maple syrup Black Tuesday variant?!
