I just bought a can of Briess extract and there is a pin sized hole at the seal. It was sealed with a small bit of extract hardened on the side of the seal. I rinsed it off with hot water and squeezed the jug and a bit a extract did seep out. The hardened extract did not appear tainted before i rinsed it.

Should i use this or go all the way back to the brew supply and swap it out? I will be boiling it for 30 minutes.

the boil will kill anything that may or may not of gotten into the extract. but still they sold you a defective package go get a new one if you can.

by the by, i used the can in question. today is the end of the first week of conditioning, and the brew is clean as hell. Tastes good. Green, but good. Thanks again for the feedback!
