I am wondering if it is worth it for me to switch to an AIO for making my soda? Currently my process is this: boiling on a restaurant gas stove top, cooling it down with my wort chiller, filtering it, transferring it to a keg, topping it up with water.

I want to be able to make more batches, without monopolizing the cooking area in the kitchen. I am putting in a new kegerator in a few weeks that will have 4 taps. I need to be able to keep up to the demand. Right now we go through about 2 kegs a week. But that is with only one flavour available.

no . prolly the biggest advantage to an aio is the ability to maintain constant temps for the mash. you dont need to do that.

what exactly is your process because for soda you dont need to boil anything really.

I was just looking to see if it would save me some time. I boil my syrup, let it cool, filter, put it in the keg and add the water. The AIO is a stand alone unit that i don't need to occupy areas on the range top.

Basically, will it make the job easier, or am i just spending money to do it a a slightly different way?

If you are looking for the cheapest possible solution then the Digiboil is probably the way to go. The only limitation with the digiboil is:

1. You lose the malt pipe
2. You lose the pump. This can be handy especially if you are using a counter flow chiller or want to cool down quickly.
3. You have slightly higher watt density. Both the digiboil and the BrewZilla have low watt density but the BrewZilla is even lower so for particularly higher sugar liquids or where solids are in the boil you will have less risk of caramelization and slight reduction in maillard effect.
4. You lose the center drain which means you have to turn the digiboil upside down at some stage during the cleaning process. The BrewZilla can be cleaned in place and drains out completely.

Oh, that's cool. That looks like it will work perfectly for me. Thanks.

Is there a distributor in Canada? I can find it for $199 in the US, Canada has it on Amazon.ca for over $500.
