Hey all,

I'm about to brew up a belgian tripel extract recipe that calls for honey to be added, and I don't know when to add the honey to the boil.

I'm going to be doing late additions for my DME's, so should I add the honey along with my DME's @15 just like I would with any other sugar, or should I do anything special like add it at flame out?

I'm brewing up a imperial honey porter right now. What Revvy said would be perfect. I am adding it in the last 10 min of boil since it is such a high alcohol beer though. How much honey does the recipe call for?

I'm adding my DME's @20, and I'm going to add the honey @5.
 
It was decent for the first couple months after being bottled, but after aging for a long time it became awesome.
 
Is this typical of brews with honey?

It's pretty typical of big beers, which this one is. Meads generally benefit from some extended aging, but their fermentables are usually 100% honey. I doubt anything with a modest amount of honey really needs much aging, for that reason, at any rate.
