Brewing up a Kolsch, yeast question

This is my second brew so I'm still using the Brewer's Best kits. Of course it comes with a yeast packet, but oddly enough the summary of the beer that's on the instructions, and also printed on the box says "the lager-like characteristics this ale is famous for are achieved by using liquid Kolsch yeast." If I can't find the Kolsch yeast at my homebrew store, am I ok using the yeast included in the box, or a different kind of Kolsch yeast?

Any Koelsch yeast SHOULD work in theory. Just remember to ferment it at the recommended temperature range.

Your homebrew store doesn't carry White Labs or Wyeast? Both offer a Kolsch strain. Wlp029 & Wy 2565 respectively.

I just did Northern Brewers Kolsch beer last saturday for my second brew. I used Safale US-05 Ale Yeast. They also offer to use wyeast 1010 american wheat.

Kolsch on the left, it has turned a little lighter since the picture
