Ive been interested in brewing for a long time, but had the misfortune of talking to the wrong people about it when i showed interest and got scared off.

a few weeks ago i finally decided to take the dive, as i love beer. i asked a new group of people on the internet and they suggested William's Brewery kits, purchased one, and now im only a few days from my first bottling day!

its been very interesting and its something i only want to learn more about. ive read a few books now, and keep looking for more information.

i'd like to take a few steps towards a better brew with my next batch, but it will be another 5 months before i can do anything really exciting, as i will be out of town (however i'll be getting brew supply there as well, so i can at least continue with kits, and trying to make those better by simple changes.

anyway, im open to any advice for new comers. thanks!

Welcome to HBT!

You found a great place for more information. One of the best things about HBT is that since you can't be brewing all the time, you get to TALK about brewing whenever you want without getting that glazed over look from your friends.

Hey Smilin Goat,
I am a misplaced SE alaskan (Juneau-ite) myself......hoping to get back someday, but my wife doesn't like the winter rain/slush/darkness.....in all honesty it was a bit hard on me, too, growing up. I can't think of a better way to spend those winters than brewing beer (Skiing, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors are also key, if you ask me)....wish I'd have thought of it when I was still there. have fun and good luck. Hope your shipping isn;t as outrageous as I think it's gonna be. :)
