Hi all,
I'm a homebrewer who has found himself again after many years of inactivity and eager to refresh his memory and technique with the help of this wonderful community. Here in Finland there very little homebrewing "camaraderie" and the language doesn't help either...

Brewing definitely helps during the long cold dark winter!

Cheers

Welcome to the forum, the sense of community and learning from each other is what makes this forum great.

When we were visiting family in northern Finland, one old cousin made a homebrew that had very little alcohol but was tasty. Maybe rye based?
No one drank on the farms we went to or offered alcohol. Made me sad. Here you go to someone's house in the evening or on a weekend and first question, do you want a beer?

Yes, it is possibly rye. It's commonly used for the local bread.

And it is also common not to offer much here in Finland... in partcular alchol!;)
