Because of my current living conditions the cabinet where I ferment my beers is in the upper 40s to low 50s. I wanted to brew an Irish stout for Saint Patty's day (almost made it). I used W34/70 and it turned out pretty good.

Looks great. What would you say are the characteristic differences between it and a traditional dry stout made with an ale yeast?

Little, if any. I used W34/70 because I expected it to give similar results in the low 50s as an ale yeast in the mid 60s.
